PDR estimate translation: Mobile Tech RX to CCC ONE or Mitchell

PDR estimate translation at Storm Rider Solutions means taking a scope from Mobile Tech RX, other scoping software, a matrix or a handwritten sheet, and writing a full insurance estimate from it in your CCC ONE or Mitchell. There is no software integration. You export the scope, and I write the estimate from the export, under your name, with every operation line noted.

The short version

  • There is no software link between Mobile Tech RX and CCC ONE or Mitchell here. You export the scope and send it with the photographs.
  • Christopher Johnson writes a complete insurance estimate from it in your CCC ONE or Mitchell, under your name.
  • The estimate is written, not retyped: platform labor and refinish times, operation order, R&I, blends, conventional repair and a note on every line.
  • Turnaround is 24 hours from complete documentation, and 24 to 72 hours at catastrophe volume.
  • The first file is free. After that it is $150 per file, or less with a credit pack.

What PDR estimate translation is

PDR estimate translation is writing an insurance estimate in CCC ONE or Mitchell from a PDR scope that was written somewhere else. The most common source is a Mobile Tech RX export. Other scoping exports, printed or handwritten hail matrices and scope sheets work the same way.

The scope tells me what the repair is: dent counts, panel sizes, repair difficulty, and often R&I, blends and panels going conventional. The estimate in CCC ONE or Mitchell has to show what the repair costs at the platform's own times and why each operation is needed, in the format the carrier's appraiser reviews.

Mobile Tech RX to CCC ONE or Mitchell: how it works

Four steps. You keep scoping in the tool you already use.

  1. Export the scope

Export the estimate from Mobile Tech RX, or whatever tool you scope in, the way you normally would. A paper matrix or scope sheet works if it is legible.

  2. Send it with the photographs

Upload the export with the photo set and any carrier paperwork. The required photo list is published.

  3. I write the estimate

In your CCC ONE or Mitchell, under your name. Each operation is written at the platform's times, in the order the platform expects, with a line note.

  4. You send it to the carrier

The finished estimate is placed in the drive for you, and you send it. I don't send files to carriers or follow up on them.

Estimate re-keying and a written estimate

Why PDR estimate translation is more than copying lines from one program into another.

Estimate re-keying means typing the lines from one program into another as they are. I read the scope and the photographs and write the estimate in CCC ONE or Mitchell the way I would write any hail file:

  • Platform labor and refinish times. Each operation uses the time CCC ONE or Mitchell assigns to it, instead of a number carried over from the scope.
  • Operation sequence. Operations go in the order the platform expects, so overlap and included operations calculate the same way they do on the carrier's side.
  • R&I and access. Parts that have to come off to reach the damage, including restraint system work when a roof is replaced.
  • Blends and conventional repair. Blends on adjacent panels, and body labor, paint time and materials for a panel too creased to push.
  • ADAS calibration. Checked against the VIN and the operations written on the estimate.
  • Recoverable materials. Listed on their own lines.
  • Line notes. Each operation carries the manufacturer procedure or labor premise behind it.

If the scope is missing an operation the repair needs, it goes on the estimate with a note explaining why. If you already have a CCC ONE or Mitchell estimate on the car and think it is short, that is a supplement; see collision supplements.

What a translated PDR estimate looks like

Two excerpts from a CCC ONE estimate I wrote for a 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid, showing how PDR is written on the estimate.

Note: PDR 6 quarter
15O/S DENTS3150.00
16BlndLT Fender1.0
17BlndRT Fender1.0
A dent count on a scope becomes a PDR line with a note the appraiser can check against the photographs: line 14 is the right fender with "PDR 6 quarter". Line 15 puts three oversize dents on their own manual line, and lines 16 and 17 add the fender blends as refinish operations.

Note: BLEND AND CLEAR WRAP FOR ADJACENT PANEL REPAIR
Line 111 adds 25% to the PDR price because the sail panel is double paneled, and the note gives the reason. Line 112 blends and clear wraps the quarter for the adjacent panel repair. Notes like these are what let an appraiser follow the estimate without calling you.

What you can send

  • Mobile Tech RX exports and other scoping exports.
  • Printed or handwritten hail matrices and scope sheets.
  • CCC ONE or Mitchell files.
  • Photographs with nothing written yet.
  • A carrier estimate you believe is short, with the denial or short-pay paperwork.

Dent counts by panel and a note on your inspection conditions (PDR light, shop lighting or outdoors) make the file stronger.

Pricing

Flat per file. The price is never a percentage of the estimate.

Each estimate or supplement uses one credit. Credits never expire and there are no monthly minimums. The full pricing table is on the home page.

Questions shops ask about PDR estimate translation

Mobile Tech RX, re-keying and cost.

Can you convert a Mobile Tech RX estimate to CCC ONE?

Yes, in the sense that I write a new estimate in your CCC ONE from it. Nothing is imported automatically. You export the estimate from Mobile Tech RX and send it with the photographs, and I write the full insurance estimate in your CCC ONE, under your name.

The same works for Mitchell.

Does Storm Rider Solutions integrate with Mobile Tech RX?

No. There is no software integration. You export from Mobile Tech RX and send the export, and there is nothing for you to install or set up.

Is this just re-keying?

No. Re-keying copies lines from one program into another as they are. I write the estimate: CCC ONE or Mitchell labor and refinish times, operations in the order the platform expects, R&I, blends and conventional repair where the photographs call for them, and a line note on every operation.

If the scope is missing an operation the repair needs, it goes on the estimate with a note explaining why.

Can you work from a handwritten matrix or other scoping software?

Yes. Other scoping exports, printed or handwritten hail matrices and scope sheets work the same way, as long as they are legible. Photographs with nothing written yet work too.

What does it cost?

The first file is free: one vehicle, no card required, no contract. After that each estimate uses one credit: $150 à la carte, or $140, $132, $125 and $115 per file in packs of 10, 25, 50 and 100.

Credits never expire, and the price is never a percentage of the estimate.

How long does it take?

24 hours from a complete set of photographs and documentation. At catastrophe volume it is 24 to 72 hours, and if a week will land on the long end, you are told before you send the cars.
